The Preston Half is for the speedy trail runner who loves some long assents and fast decent.
I really enjoyed the Copland Lane path that leads you to the Peek Plantation. It’s muddy and fast. From here you’ve got a slight bit of road before starting the long hill climb up Jackman’s Lane (also a great blackberry spot in Autumn).
The Preston Half is half the distance of the much loved Franklin Totnes Trail 10km Trail and coined after our members Oli Preston used it for hill sprint training.
Daisy also added on a great little extra when we got to the top of Jackman’s Lane and showed Oli and I a nice road we hadn’t been on. I love this impromptu moments and having the flexibility to change the route whenever you want.
